Since its debut in 2019, Mortal Kombat 11 has seen two significant upgrades. "We have some of the most passionate fans in the world and we appreciate the support they have shown us over the years." "When Mortal Kombat launched nearly 30 years ago, I never dreamed it would grow into the franchise it is today with more than 73 million games sold," NetherRealm Studios Creative Director and Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon said in WB Games' press release. The series has seen the release of 11 main fighting titles, three adventure spin off titles, three theatrical films, animated films, and even several TV series. The Mortal Kombat franchise is celebrating its 30 year anniversary next October, and over nearly three decades it has accomplished a whole lot.
